The MDPI Vision Early Career Researcher Prize

SVG2024 are thrilled to introduce the MDPI Vision Early Career Researcher Prize.

This award will be dedicated to recognising those who have shown exceptional academic promise or have demonstrated remarkable resilience and determination in their journey.

Award Criteria

  • Nominees should be early career researchers who have not yet held a permanent position as an independent researcher.*
  • Meet at least one of the following criteria;
    • Outstanding research, innovation, or contribution to the field.
    • Evidence of overcoming significant challenges.
    • Demonstration of exceptional resilience and determination.

*We strongly encourage nominations for individuals who come from historically underrepresented backgrounds.

Nomination Process

  • Nominations should include a detailed account of how the nominee meets the criteria.
  • Supporting documents, such testimonials, or personal stories, are highly encouraged.
  • The deadline for nominations has been extended to the 9th February 2024 (23:59 GMT).

Selection Process

  • Nominations will be reviewed by a panel of experts in the field (TBA)
  • The winner will be notified by 29th February 2024

Award Benefits

  • The award recipient will be invited to present their research as an invited guest, with the cost of attending (including UK travel) covered by the organisers (or potential sponsor).
  • The recipient will present their research on Saturday 23rd March.

This award aims to celebrate the perseverance and strength of early career researchers who have navigated through challenges while contributing significantly to our field.

Nominations & self-nominations are crucial in identifying and rewarding these individuals.

Nominations will open on the 4th of December.
